Pressurised Split Solar Hot Water System
A pressurised split system is where the evacuated tube collector is located separately from the tank and positioned on the roof of the property for the best possible return of the energy given by the sun. The pressurised tank can now be placed within the main structure of the building such as a cupboard or utility room. A working pump-station brings the two together.
The Lynx Solar pressurised split solar water system now gives Lynx Solar an alternative where customers cannot have or do not want a compact system; or where planning regulations in areas such as national parks do not allow this option.
Lynx Solar are selling three sizes of this system:
Lynx Solar SF 150 litre
Suitable for 2-4 people with 1 bathroom and kitchen.
The complete system consists of:
- Lynx Solar SF 180/58/18 evacuated tube collector
- 150 litre stand-up stainless steel pressurised tank with 1 coil for the solar connection. An electric back-up (immersion heater)
- A Lynx Solar Pump Station: this is used to pump water through the collector returning hot water to the tank. The pump station also comes with a controller and through sensors, can activate the pump taking heat back from the tank to the collector when there is a risk of freezing
- Temperature pressure release valve
- Expansion vessel for solar loop
- Pressure gauge
Lynxsolar SF 200 and 250 litre
Suitable for 4-8 people with 2 bathrooms and kitchen.
The complete system consists of:
- Lynx Solar SF-1800 24 evacuated tube collector for the 200 litre, and 30 tube collector for the 250 litre tank
- 200 or 250 litre vertical stainless mains pressure tank with twin coils. The second coil can be used for a back-up using a gas or oil boiler. Electric back-up (immersion heater) comes as standard
- A Lynx Solar pump station: for connecting solar collector to coil in the tank to heat water. It comes with a controller which has freeze protection. This works via sensors, by taking heat back from the tank to the collector preventing freezing in severe conditions
- Temperature pressure release valve for safety
- Expansion vessel on the solar loop
- Pressure gauge
FEATURES FOR THE SEPARATE SOLAR SYSTEM
- Vertical tank which takes up less space and is easy to conceal in a cupboard or utility room
- Heats water at the top of the tank quickly
- Hot water is closer to the services of the dwelling
- The evacuated tube collector, being separate, makes it easier for it to blend in with the building and surrounding environment
- The backup with electric immersion heater should be set to maintain temperature in the tank so that on cloudy days the water is not heated from cold. This also saves energy
Note: All of these systems come with an anode in the tank which will need replacing on a yearly basis or sooner if there are high levels of lime scale in hard water areas.
The guarantee of the pressurized tank is subject to there being filtration or a Hydroflow filter installed in hard water and high lime scale areas.
Lynx Solar recommends that you take out a maintenance contract for a complete yearly service of the product.
